My School Magazine

I think the best bits of my school magazine is that on the front page i've put the main story accompanied by pictures relating to it then the smaller stories in stars at the bottom of the page, I also think on my contents page my main stories of the week are a main part of my page. I think the part of my school magazine which could be improved and I would do differently if I had the chance would be on my contents page I could have put the page numbers to what page the information will be on, which would be easier/helpful for the reader of the magazine.

I identified the codes and conventions of a magazine as I used a masthead for my headline "Epsom and Ewell Weekly," a sub heading "How the 2012 London Olympics inspired us," the main story on the front page with the pictures relating to the main story. I have also put the date and what issue of the school magazine it is on my front page so the audience know what issue they're reading.

After researching other school magazines I found it quite easy to think of a main story and headline as the London 2012 Olympics have only just finished, I then decided to get sports pictures from my school to go with the main story as they relate to each other. The part of my school magazine which I found hard would be how to layout the other smaller stories on my front page. For my music magazine I would lay out my smaller stories out in an interesting way rather than putting them in stars.

Creating this school magazine has helped me think about making my music magazine for my main project as I have to include all the codes and conventions needed including the masthead, sub heading, page number references, barcode, main stories and pictures. By doing all these I am aiming to create a successful music magazine for my main project.
